Whidbey Homeless Coalition
Whidbey Homeless Coalition works to serve the population of Whidbey Island through programs and support networks. Their vision says it all. Homelessness is not a Seattle or an urban issue. Homelessness is everywhere, including here on Whidbey Island We provide emergency overnight shelter (through the Haven) and transitional housing (through the House of Hope) that give positive results. Good Cheer - Food Bank
Good Cheer’s mission is to create a hunger-free community on South Whidbey. Hunger doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and they help connect our food bank shoppers with other programs and resources, provide low-cost clothing and household necessities through our thrift stores, and cultivate two garden spaces to ensure fresh produce is always available. Good Cheer Food Bank is there for anyone who doesn’t have adequate resources to feed themselves or their family. There are no additional eligibility requirements to access our services. North Whidbey Help House
Their Mission is to provide assistance to those in need in the community in an impartial and dignified manner. They provide emergency/supplemental food, and assistance through the North Whidbey Medical Help program, and health and welfare checkups via the tele-care program. They work with other human services agencies in our community to ensure that we are prepared to offer the best assistance possible and assist wherever possible in not only improving lifestyles, but striving towards independence from the need for assistance. The Whidbey Island Rec Center is a place for people of all abilities where we come together to socialize, play and learn from one another and form long lasting friendships.
